Jan 8 2026: Just a quick note to let you know we are monitoring the political development (Trump-Venezuela- Colombia) as well as reassessing our route and program accordingly.

As the cooperation with army and police is close, we expect to be updated on safe and less safe areas. Consequently we may alter the route if needed or advised.

Exact location and time to meet

Wed 25/2 2026 at 12:00, Santa Marta Int’l Airport, Colombia

  • When you jump you’ll have only the most important things with you in your pockets or fannypack. The rest of your luggage will stay at the hotel if we’re there for many days or get transported by our van in case we are switching accommodation. In both cases, for the duration of a day you won’t have access to your stuff.

  • At times, we are transporting your luggage while you skydive. We can accommodate for maximum one piece of main luggage (max 23kg/50lb) + one piece hand luggage (max 10kg/22lb)

  • It’s usually very warm, very humid and you can expect to be wet often. Additionally, the sun is very strong.

We will provide a gift, one long sleeve jersey that dries quickly, and sunscreen and drinking water after landing.

  • During our Colombia adventure, we will land in a wide range of real-world environments, including urban demo areas, beaches, riverbanks, conventional DZs, and high-altitude mountain valleys. These are not standard drop zone landings and require accuracy, discipline, and good decisions.

    Landing surfaces

    •  Grass fields (DZs and rural areas) — generally forgiving, but may be uneven or sloped

    •  Sand beaches — long but often narrow, with variable sand quality

    •  Riverbanks — sand and rocks, size depends on water level

    •  Hard surfaces — concrete or stone plazas in urban demo jumps

    Landing area sizes

    •  Urban demo landings can be as small as ~80 × 30 m

    •  Riverbanks and DZ fields typically 50 × 150 m

    •  Beaches may be up to 1 km long but only 20–40 m usable width

    •  Mountain valley fields can be large (~200 × 200 m) but contain obstacles throughout

    Common obstacles

    •  Trees, including very tall wax palm trees

    •  Buildings, shade structures, benches, walls

    •  Cables, nets, boats, and beach equipment

    •  Rivers, shore break, people, and wildlife

    Environment & Conditions

    •  Most landings are near sea level, but there are also some high-altitude landings (up to ~2,500m/8200ft) where thinner air will affect canopy performance

    •  Terrain (valleys, rivers, coastline) can funnel or distort wind creating mechanical turbulence

    •  Water levels and tides may change landing area size

    •  Some locations offer few or no safe outs

    Consequences

    •  Hard surfaces and rocks increase injury risk from poor landings

    •  Tree landings and entanglements

    •  Water landings may involve strong currents and require rescue

    •  Late or indecisive approaches often eliminate safe alternatives

    Jumper Expectations

    •  Accurate, conservative canopy flying

    •  Early commitment to primary or secondary landing areas

    •  Clean separation and predictable patterns

    •  Hop-and-pops at several locations

    •  Wing-loading–based separation when required

    •  Appropriate footwear for hard or uneven surfaces

    Bottom Line

These landings are technically simple but unforgiving. Success comes from planning early, flying clean, and landing accurately.

If you are not comfortable landing in tight or obstacle-rich environments let us know in advance.
