The Innhopp Project

The Innhopp Project, founded by Norwegian Even Rokne, emerged from the realization that out-landings could be transformed into thrilling experiences. Since the 1990s, The Innhopp Project has organized dozens of skydiving events with the focus on landing in never before landed locations but that are often connected to the cultural or natural highlights of the region.

At first, the events took place around Norway's mountains and fjords but since 2016 Namibia, Seychelles and Slovenia have been the drop zones for hundreds of participants, doing thousands of jumps and sharing their strong emotions about how it feels.

Testimonials

“Innhopps are some of the most powerful types of jumps I’ve ever done - generating deep emotions and connections amongst the people sharing them. It brings full enjoyment of the present moment and acceptance of the fact the we can manage the unknown more than what we all think is possible.”

Marco Arrigo (World Class FS LO, 20k+ jumps, 30+ years in sport)

"There is regular life, there is skydiving and there's...Innhopps!"

Seychelles: Coral Atoll Islands

April 10-16, 2024

This is the fourth time The Innhopp Project arranges a trip to the Seychelles. In Chapter 1 we revisit our favourite spots from before and then pioneer together in Chapter 2 as we travel to the Outer Islands - rarely visited and never before jumped - 300km away from the main island of Mahé. With maximum 24 participants, this trip is far from mass tourism.

Chapter 1: The Known

Welcome to the Seychelles! We’re jumping straight into it - the island that is! Our first jump over the main island of Mahé is followed by a lunch, welcome meeting and presentation of the week’s program! We then check in at our 9.6 rated, spacious guesthouses - and later enjoy a tasty welcome dinner together before hitting the bed - ready for the next day.

The following two days we’ll do five jumps over four stunning islands - Mahé, Praslin, La Digue and Curieuse. The scenery is stunning, with large granite boulders on some beaches, wild turtles and friendly locals. The landing areas are beaches - most often 200m, but not always wide. The aircraft takes maximum 10-12 people so it’s not so crowded in the air. Winds are mostly steady from the sea to the land.

Outside of jumping, these days we will visit the UNESCO site of Vallèe de Mai, where we will see Coco de Mer, a truly incredible plant only growing on Praslin and Curieuse, we’ll visit the turtle nesting farm and we’ll bicycle through the typical island community at La Digue.

Chapter 2: The Unknown

Now we are ready for our true goal: The Outer Islands of Seychelles - 300km away from Mahe. That’s the same distance as London-Brussels and NYC-Washington DC.

These rarely visited islands, also part of the Amirantes, are picturesque coral atolls. Whales, rays, swordfish, tuna live in the water. Huge amounts of seabirds live and breed there. Coconut trees grow wild.

We will be the first skydivers ever to jump at Desroches, Marie Louise, Desnoefs, Poivre and Ile du Sud. Some of these islands do not usually allow visitors and some do not have an airstrip - in which case we’ll take a boat back to the nearest island that has one.

The accommodation for this chapter is in a decommissioned jail on the island of Marie Louise. Built in 2012, it was declared a “special prison”, boasting facilities to house prisoners in a secure and safe setting, as well as a clinic, a training room with library, dining facilities and exercise yard. Already 2017 it closed and was taken over by the Seychelles Defence Forces who are having us stay there as their guests.

We are so excited to offer this once in a lifetime experience exploring a tropical archipelago, guaranteeing strong emotions and friendships for a lifetime.

The Team

You, The Innhopp Family.

That The Innhopp Project’s events separate themselves from most skydiving events is already clear. But it’s not just how we skydive.

It’s how we look after each other, how we vulnerably share the strong emotions that innhopps evoke. It’s diversity and inclusion! It’s Even’s narration of the week’s challenges and excitements. It’s the group assignments that foster team camaraderie.

It’s The Innhopp Family.
